VIDEO PREMIER: SEARCHING BY SERANI

Friday, May 14, 2010

The Ramon Cruz-directed clip is a studio/club-based video that is packed with energy and fun from start to finish. Searching, produced by DASECA, is a song that cleverly flips the latest dance craze - the Follow Through - into a slang in the song.

The Follow Through dance was invented by Mundo, of the famous Ravers Clavers dance clique, and has caught on like wildfire in Dancehalls and clubs across continents. With the release of the Searching video Serani hopes it will help impact the song and the dance together.

"We shot it in New York and its just a real fun video," said Serani. "We got lots of dancers and females to come and try the Follow Through and some caught it better than others! But its a dance for everyone to do as reflected in the video by girls from many different nations."

Searching will be released digitally in the coming weeks, release date to be confirmed. Serani's other dance smash - Skip to My Luu - has been getting spins on US radio and is expected to gather momentum throughout the Summer. "Skip" was released on iTunes and all digital retail stores this week.

Serani is headed to St Maarten this weekend for his first appearance there, before heading back to the US next week for more promotional appearances. He is also confirmed for HOT 97's Summer Jam Festival show on Sunday June 6.

Serani drops his first full length album. Album is available for Previews/downloads at Itunes and Amazon.

About Serani:

A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Serani started his career by touring as a keyboard player for several Jamaican artists (Wayne Marshall, Bounty Killer and more) and by joining school friends David and Craig Harrisingh to form Daseca, one of the most powerful production teams in Dancehall today. Serani and Daseca has been responsible for several dancehall hits, including Tony Matterhorn’s “Dutty Whine,” Sean Paul’s “We Be Burnin’” and Mavado’s “Real McKoy.” Serani took his first chance at singing when he added a hook to Mavado’s single “Dying” which he also produced. The song became a hit and Serani decided to start making his own tracks. His debut single “Doh” in 2007 turned into an immediate street anthem in Jamaica; the record also broke him into US radio stations, such as NY’s Hot 97. The follow up No Games catapulted him into the mainstream with Top 40 airplay and video play on major national video channels. Serani is currently featured on Queen Latifah’s new album “Persona” on the Neptune’s produced track “If He Wanna” and on DJ Webstar’s single “Tipsy.”

The second single She Loves Me is just starting at radio and it’s already picking up steam. The video was shot in LA by Rich Newey, one of the directors under famed director Jesse Terrero Films' umbrella. The video is now available for viewing

As anticipation builds for the October 27 release of Serani's US debut album, titled "No Games" after his crossover hit of the same name, the tracklist has now been released.

The 14 track set contains many completely new songs along with with new versions of Mama Still Hungry, When its Cold and Romance Me, alongside the title track and current hit "She Loves Me" rounding out the impressive album.

"We put a great emphasis on the quality of the production and sound on the album," said Serani. "As a musician and producer myself I'm very pleased with the sonic quality of the album and I am sure my fans will be just as pleased. You always hear people complaining that Jamaican artists release albums that are basically compilations of songs that are already out there so we wanted to do a lot of new material. Even the tracks that are known have been re-worked and upgraded! Most of the album is for my ladies, but there is something on there for everyone."

"No Games" will be available in stores and online Tuesday October 27. The NY release party will be held the same night @ SOBs Club in Manhattan NY.
